The new grinder uses ceramic burrs which produce a quieter more consistent grind which produces a better shot of espresso. The durability of the grinder will last the life of the machine. Gaggia also adds in a Milk Island specifically built to work only with the Platinum line of Gaggia machines. This gives you the ease of an automatic frother to produce an incredible milk based drink. For those who prefer manual frothing, the machine also comes with the pannarello wand.
