Advanced Controls |
The best coffee maker has to have some of the best controls, and the MT500 has them. The digital control center allows for programmed brewing up to 24 hours in advance, monitoring of the water filter, and even an electronic brewing selector, ensuring that if you want to brew smaller amounts, the machine will adjust properly to the task thanks to the Aroma Control feature. Use this feature if you only want to brew between 3 and 5 cups of coffee. A smaller batch of brewed coffee requires less coffee grounds. The machine will actually disperse hot water slower over the smaller amount of coffee grounds and produce a better extraction. Typical coffee brewers do not compensate for smaller batches of grounds resulting in under-brewed (under-extracted coffee), because they spray the grounds to quickly and the water passes through the coffee grounds to fast. |

Built In Water Filtration with Filter Change Indicator |
Water filtration is a hallmark of many Capresso machines and the MT500 is no exception. It's built in water filtration system removes over 85% of chlorine found in tap water. Even if you use well or spring water, the added filtration won’t hurt. It consists of a charcoal filter capsule that fits into a receptacle in the bottom of the water reservoir. Use of the water filter is optional, as it is not required to operate the machine. Each filter lasts for two months or 60 pots and are easily replaceable. An indicator light will illuminate when the MT500 suggests that the filter should be changed. |

Ten Cup Thermal Carafe |
This 50-ounce thermal carafe is made of double walled stainless steel with a safety grip handle and a one-way valve on top that helps preserve freshness. The valve allows coffee to flow from the brew head directly through the lid into the carafe. With this design, the coffee has little or no contact with the outside air. |
